인기 명창의 소리를 담은 춘향전
한국에서 유성기 음반은 1927년 시작된 라디오방송과 함께 강력한 대중매체 역할을 했습니다. 당시 톱스타였던 판소리 명창 이화중선, 이동백, 임방울, 박록주, 오태석 등은 음반취입과 방송출연으로 활동하며 창극 춘향전을 통해서도 많은 인기를 누렸습니다. “Chunhyangjeon” series, recorded by contemporary top singers Along with the earliest Korean radio broadcast in 1927, gramophone records also played a powerful role as a mass-media. Top singers such as Yi Hwajungseon, Yi Dongbaek, Yim Bang-ul, Bak Nokju, Oh Taeseok, and more were busy to release music records and to perform in radio studios. They also had privileges of being top stars through theater stages as well as music records.

춘향전의 유성기 음반은 일축조선소리반, 시에론 춘향전 전집, 콜롬비아 춘향전 전집, 빅터 춘향전 전집, 오케 춘향전 전집 등을 통해 발매되었습니다. “Chunhyangjeon” series released on gramophone records Chunhyangjeon’s gramophone series were released by many recording companies such as Nipponophone, Chieron, Columbia, Victor, and Okeh records.

일축조선소리반의 춘향전
일축소리반에서 1926년에 총 18장 발매된 창극 춘향전은 이동백 도창으로 진행되어 창극 보다는 입체창 판소리에 가까운 형태로 녹음된 음반입니다. “Chunhyangjeon” series released by Nipponophone “Chunhyangjeon,” the Korean opera was released by Nipponophone in 1926 with 18 discs in total. Despite the title of Korean opera, it is rather closer to the role play of individual singers led by pansori master Yi Dongbaek.

1934년에 총 12장 발매된 시에론 음반사의 춘향전은 명창 김정문과 신금홍이 남녀 배역을 나누어 소리를 녹음했습니다. “Chunhyangjeon” series released by Chieron This album series was released in 1934 with 12 discs in total. Mr. Kim Jeongmun and Ms. Sin Geumhong sang as male and female characters, respectively.

콜롬비아의 춘향전
콜롬비아 춘향전 전집은 1934년에 총 18장 발매되었습니다. 김창룡, 이화중선, 오비취, 권금주, 한성준 등이 참여하였으며, 도창의 비중을 줄이고 대사창으로 극적 효과를 높여 창극적 느낌을 담았습니다. “Chunhyangjeon” series released by Columbia Columbia’s “Chunhyangjeon” series was released in 1934, consisting 18 discs in total. More dialogues with less leader’s part in this album brought the image of opera-like workpiece compared to the other series. Participated singers are Gim Changnyong, Yi Hwajungseon, Oh Bichwi, Gwon Geumju, and Han Seongjun.

빅터 춘향전
정정렬, 이화중선, 박록주, 임방울, 김소희, 한성준이 녹음한 빅터 춘향전집은 1937년에 총 19장이 발매되었으며, 1950~60년대 유성기 음반과 LP로 복제되어 가장 오랫동안 대중의 사랑을 받은 음반으로도 손꼽힙니다. “Chunhyangjeon” series released by Victor Victor’s “Chunhyangjeon” series was released in 1937 consisting 19 discs with such top singers as Jeong Jeong-yeol, Yi Hwajungseon, Bak Nokju, Yimbang-ul, Gim Sohui, and Han Seongjun. This series was told as the most-loved and long-lasted popular album after its republication as SP and LP discs, respectively between 1950s and 1960s.
국립민속국악원의 빅터, 춘향
국립민속국악원은 "판에 박은 소리, Victor 춘향" 작품을 통해 1937년 발매된 빅터 "춘향전' 녹음 내용과 당시 상황을 재연하여 소리극 형태로 선보였습니다. Pansori, printed on the disc: Victor’s Chunhyangjeon by Namwon National Gugak Center Namwon National Gugak Center reproduced the Victor’s “Chunhyangjeon” series as a new media content in opera style based on the original records.

오케레코드의 춘향전
소리에 임방울과 이화중선, 북은 정원섭 고수가 참여한 오케레코드사의 춘향전은 총 20장 세트로 구성되어 1937년에 발매되었습니다. Chunhyangjeon series released by Okeh 20 discs included in the set of Okeh’s “Chunhyangjeon” series. In 1937, singer Yim Bang-ul and Yi Hwajungseon with a drummer Jeong Wonseop joined the recording.
